I actually think it was the combination of NDF and Microhydrin, although frankly,
what is sold today as NDF and Microhydrin are not the exact same thing that
was sold back then. So I don't know if the formulas from today would have
helped as much as the formulations from back then.
I did later try 2 years of "rounds" on ALA in small, frequent doses, but didn't
see any additional benefits from it, possibly because I wasn't taking very large
doses. I was getting redistribution symptoms from it, so obviously I still have
a mercury burden. It was also causing me some eye muscle problems and
was thinning my hair (both of these reversed after I stopped taking it).
I've only briefly tried small amounts of DMPS and DMSA, and didn't really
like my reactions to them. However, I probably didn't give them much
of a chance.
There was a product called OSR that was on the market from 2008 - 2010
that I thought worked pretty well as a mercury binder, however there was
an FDA "witch hunt" over it and it was pulled from the market (even though
it didn't appear that the company was doing anything wrong). It may
return in 2015 as the prescription drug NBMI.
BioRay LiverLife caused me problems. In fact, anything with milk thistle in it
causes me problems. Hard to find any liver support products that I tolerate
well (which is probably indicative of a liver problem). I can tolerate the
liver products from Standard Process, though. And Schizandra (herb)
is tolerable to me in small/infrequent amounts.
