Hi - has anyone heard of a "Pong" case? Pong is a company that manufactures cases that are specifically designed to reduce the user's exposure to the radiation emitted by iPhones, iPads, and a few of the Android phones (some of the phones in Samsung's Galaxy series, for example). These cases have supposedly been proven by independent parties to be legit; they indeed redirect much of the radiation away from users' heads and bodies. These cases have a solid reputation for living up to their promise in terms of reducing effective "SAR" levels:
http://www.pongresearch.com/I just wonder if the radiation-redirecting capacity of these cases would be something that electrosensitives are able to "feel"? Perhaps I should have tried one out when I had the chance: I briefly had an iPad 2 in my possession. I bought the iPad Saturday, and returned it Monday - for reasons that you all are familiar with. Whereas some people here have been able to use an iPad with no problem (or relatively little problem) - for me, the iPad 2 was just a little too bothersome for me to feel comfortable using it over the long term. Was it as bad as some of the recent Macbook Pros, and so many other laptops on the market? No - but I still experienced a face stinging/burning sensation as I was using it, vague "skull penetrating" symptoms that I've experienced time and time again - and my right hand (the hand that I used the most to "swipe" the iPad) seemed to pay the price for my usage in the form of unusual "dryness".
Anyway, I considered buying a Pong case to see if it would make a significant enough of a difference - but ultimately decided not to. For one thing - the whole thing (iPad2 + Applecare insurance + Pong case) would have been a pricey investment - about $600. I just wasn't sure that the price would have been worth it for me - considering my lifestyle and what I would have primarily used the iPad for. But I guess I could have temporarily bought a Pong case anyway - for "research" purposes - then returned everything. The 14-day return-period I had for the iPad certainly wasn't encouraging, though (what ever happened to the 30-day return policy?).
Does anyone have any experience with these cases - and/or any thoughts about how effective they would be for electrosensitives?
