Radiation Research Trust Update

Ian Gander
Hi Everyone - I am happy to declare, as I always have done in
previous posts, that I do have a commercial interest in emf
protection products, my website www.magnatech.ik.com links to my
shop where ESens members can get a discount. But my main and only
reson for getting involved with these products was because they
helped my with my symptoms and many thousands of others.
Each product sold generates a donation to the Radiation Research
Trust this is why the text below is addressed to Ecoflow
distributors - that is my parent company. I hope, despite the
advertising, it is of interest to members of the group.
All the best to each and everyone of you
Ian
BEGINS
June 16th EU Meeting with EM Radiation Research Trust
Representatives - Up-Date from Chairman Michael Bell

Following an initial meeting in May (reported in the June edition of
Newsflow) EM RRT Trustee Eileen O'Connor accompanied by leading
scientist Dr Gerd Oberfeld met again with EU Director General for
Health and Consumer Protection, John Ryan on 16th June to discuss
the possibility of EU sponsored research on the subject of electro-
hypersensitivity.

It was felt that the EM RRT would need to create research
opportunities by applying for funding. John Ryan has a budget to
cover conferences and information distribution.

The Trust proposed an alternative to the NRPB, WHO and ICNIRP and
instead would like to appoint a European team of experts either
through the Radiation Research Trust or via setting up a new charity.

As all Ecoflow distributors already know there is a desperate need
to educate the public and public health care system on how to
prevent disease caused by EMFs. This, the Trust feels, could be done
through information leaflets or an advertising campaign. John Ryan
could help to fund this through his information distribution budget.
The Trust would also like to see health warnings on mobile phones.

A proposal for a European Conference in January 2006 on the issue of
educating decision makers and public health officials throughout
Europe was also discussed.

John Ryan was interested in Dr Oberfeld's research idea to study the
environment and health indicators especially cancer clusters around
phone masts. Dr Oberfeld said a cancer cluster study would cost
around 30,000 euros and using the best knowledge and team available
it could be done over a short time period. The EM RRT suggested that
a British team should be put together working to a protocol provided
by Dr Oberfeld.

Trust Chairman Mike Bell and Eileen O'Connor are due to meet Sir
William Stewart on July 13th to discuss ways of moving forward from
the Stewart Report 2005. The Trust is also due to participate in the
open Forum meeting at Parliament House, Westminster on July 19th.
Andrew Mitchell MP has arranged a meeting with David Davis on July
29th in Westminster.

Mike O'Brien QC MP, the Solicitor General is trying to secure a
meeting with Tony Blair.

Thanks to Andrew Mitchell, Dr Ian Gibson and Phil Willis for sending
letters to Director General, John Ryan offering support for the EM
Radiation Research Trust.

As ever the Trust extends sincerest thanks to Ecoflow Plc and all
its independent distributors who continue to support the work of the
Trust with donations from the sales of Bioguard and Biophone.
