Or, to be more precise - both animals and plants provide a range of
essential fats. Some of the essential fats cannot be provided from a
standard plant based diet alone, and vegans therefore have to be careful to
supplement or find other sources for these.

This statement is not true. Plants provide essential fats that are critical
for human
existance. Calciumi is used by EVERY cell in the human body for maintenance
and repair.
Caution need be applied when recommending or considering a diet high in
saturated fat. It
is not necessarily true that by eating animal fat that you will consume
animal
progesterone.
The human body makes progesterone. This production of progesterone is in the
adrenals
and ovaries. Plant fats, such as that found in Wild Yam provides the
necessary
"ingredients" for the body to manufacturer its own progesterone.
If you don't want to eat sweet potatoes and yams and turnips and such, you
can opt for a
prescription for Prometrium (natural progesterone). It would be safer than
recommending
a diet high in saturated fats.
