> Burt's Bees carrot products
Interesting that one of the ingredients is coconut oil. Recently I read about the great benefits of coconut oil and thyroid problems. One of my major problems with EMF is its impact on my thyroid. So recently I have been eating allot of coconut oil on toast. So far I notice allot better metabolism, and increased sex drive (bonus). When at computer, I still feel my neck gets tight like my thyroid has tension in addition to nausea and nerve pain from solar plexus to my head. But it seems like one step forwards towards health even if I don't get direct EMF protection from coconut oil. Perhaps over time my thyroid will become more resistant to EMF. I've also noticed some people use coconut oil for their skin & hair. One of the symptoms I get with excessive computer use is a "burning skin" sensation on my face. However, I've found that some skin care products can eliminate that symptom almost immediately, and if used prior to computer use can prevent it from happening altogether. I've only tried fewer than 10 skin care products, so there may be something better out there, but I've had good experiences with the Burt's Bees carrot products -- they have a body lotion, a day, creme, and a night creme. The body lotion is the cheapest, and seems just as good as the others for relieving this symptom. Here's a link with a list of ingredients: http://www.jjcardinal.com/burts055.htm All of the local health food stores in my area carry this, so I have no trouble buying it. I use this every morning before going to work, and can tell the difference if I forget. One "side effect" that I have from using this product is that it makes me look much tanner (or perhaps more "orange"?) than I usually would, which is kind of odd, since the product isn't tan-colored or orange -- it's yellow! Interesting that you mention the thyroid. I've gone to some alternative health practitioners for the past couple years, and they occasionally do a "status check" on how I'm doing in clearing toxins from my body. This is usually done with muscle testing using homeopathic vials containing various toxins. In the beginning of my recovery, I had all sorts of toxins and problem areas, but these days it's just down to 2 -- my brain and my thyroid, which still have too much mercury in them. She has a range of vials at different concentrations (1x, 5x, 10x, etc). She's happy if someone muscle tests strong up to 200x. For my brain, I tested strong at 1x, 5x, and 10x, but weak at 15x. For my thyroid, I tested weak at 1x, which is as bad as one can test. It'll be interesting to see if the EMF sensitivity remains even after the brain & thyroid test good. Marc |

>my brain and my thyroid, which still have too much mercury
I just read a new book, that hasn't been released to the public yet, by a leading scientist. Since the book hasn't been released I can't mention his name. I had a unique opportunity where my friend obtained the book in a pre-release. Being a scientist in microbiology, he gets down to the cellular level to explain what happens when mercury gets into body. He mentioned that our body actually does have a natural ability to detox mercury, but it does it at the expense of depleting our glutathione (GSH) production. As soon as mercury arrives in our body, it steals an electron from a glutathione molecule, rendering it useless. Then we don't have enough glutathione to battle with free radicals to keep rest of our body healthy. One result is hypothyroidism (along with about 50 other potential health problems). So he strongly suggests glutatione enhancement through some of the following so we can naturally detox mercury and keep rest of body healthy: * Vitamin C - maintains GSH levels * Beta-Carotene - enhances GSH production * Vitamin E - enhances GSH production * Selenium - GSH cofactor * N-Acetyl-Cysteine - raises GSH levels * Alpha-Lipoic Acid - enhances cellular and extracellular GSH * SAM-e - Raises RBC and liver GSH levels * Riboflavin - Facilitates GSH-Px system * Niacin - Facilitates GSH-Px system * Cysteine - Metabolic precursor - raises GSH levels I found this interesting since I wasn't aware of ways to enhance glutathione other than cysteine (which I have been doing with Immunotec HMS-90 - www.immunocal.com, getting good results). So my body has been busy doing good work, and I thought the mercury was just stuck inside. He mentioned that from clinical tests in Sweden, that people that had their amalgam fillings removed naturally detoxed mercury by 50% within one year. He also mentioned that mercury that goes beyond the blood-brain barrier is much more difficult to detox. I was told by my doctors (naturopath & chelation specialist) that DMSA is the only way to clean out that last bit from brain and organs, but I believe this other scientist will reveal new methods soon in his other book he is writing right now on how to detox mercury. It is going to go extensively into a slow natural method to completely detox mercury from body. His approach is not to shock the body too much with major releases of mercury, but rather build up natural systems to do the work. He has invented many other systems that are on the leading edge so should be good. I just noticed niacin is on his list. That explains why Dr. Hoffer is getting such great results with niacin - facilitating GSH-Px system, meaning glutathione levels are enhanced, protecting body. It seems it may be about 6 months before his books are released.
