My understanding from my own experience is that static charge is built
up from the car moving around on a surface as well as from the
electrical system in the car. I have 2 items in my car, one is a pad
(Bio-Grounder) that I sit on that is grounded to the seat frame and
also I have a Vehicle grounding Cord connected to my axle frame that
drops to the asphalt or road to ground the static from the car.
I do not get static discharge (shocks) any more and I don't feel the
static build up on my face as I drive either.
