RE: Bizzare device may help with ES, grounding my work ar

Lachlan Mudge
I have anecdotally heard of some horror stories associated with the ultrasonic
pest repeller, though that may have been certain poorly designed systems. I
would therefore advise care when using such devices. The key point on this
would be that, if they utilise ultrasonic principles, which relate to sound
waves, then I fail to see how this would influence EMF, EMR or any other
electrical phenomena (which does not mean that it won't work of course). What
the gentleman you are referring to might also have been suggesting is another
device I have heard of which sends a harmonic EM field through household
wiring, thus annoying pests (this might also be used in connection with
ultrasonics in such a device). Regardless of whether we are referring to
ultrasonics or EM fields, I would say that if any living creature is annoyed by
such devices, then there is a chance that human beings might also be irritated
in some way. Furthermore, as with the causes of ES, an ultrasonic sound wave
is not theoretically perceptible (audible) to a human, however it does not
necessarily follow that this will not irritate a human in some way or have some
adverse health effects, as with ES. I would be interested to hear the
reasoning used by the gentleman in question so that we all might learn
something useful. I'd also be keen to be updated on how you go with this
device.

Subject: [eSens] Bizzare device may help with ES, grounding my work area

I was speaking to a gentleman who is very knowledgeable about electricity
and the human electric field - at a casual level.

When I told him about ES, his immediate reaction was to use a high frequency
mouse/rat repelling electrical device to counter the EMF.

I happen to have a few of these, "Ultrasonic Pest Repeller" units so plugged
one in near my computer. I seem to be noticing slightly less symtoms since
plugging it in, but not sure if this is placebo.

He told me these devices work entirely based on ground, so should work well
to counter EMF.

Another idea that I thought of which seemed like it may have some merit, is
to create grounding points in my area where I work on my computer, so it may
help with EMF. ie. Ground a metal type matt, my chair, or computer arm
rest with an earth ground. I am not an electrical expert but this just
seemed like good sense, since grounding seems to help overcome my symptoms.

Regards,

Glenn

I bought one of these once to repel pests -- I believe it was the type
which inserted a signal into the house's electrical wiring to annoy the
pests. Needless to say, I found it agitating almost immediately, and
stopped using it.
