I think I am going to take the plunge and buy myself something from QuantumProducts, but am undecided about which device to go for. I am a CAD engineer and sit in front of a large LCD monitor every day, which is the main source of my electrosensitivity. I feel that if I can reduce the symptoms from the monitor, some of my other symptoms may reduce in time as well.
My question is, do I go for the Quantum Pro, which seems to be a general EMF protection device for the whole office or go for the more specific Quantum monitor, that plugs into the AVG socket in the monitor itself...this is also the cheaper option by $150. Any advice please? |

Quantum Home or Pro, probably, because in an office you want to deal with not only your computer, but also the other computers nearby, the florescent lights nearby, other people's cellphones, EMF coming in from the outside of the building, etc. You could also add a 3-outlet Quantum power conditioner to that (plugged into any nearby outlet), which I think treats the electricity a bit differently, or the Quantum Byte software (if you have a PC and Admin rights) I do have the Quantum Monitor, and I am currently using it at work, but it's more of the "icing on the cake", as I have a Quantum Pro right next to it. And I probably wouldn't be able to tolerate working even halftime in that cubicle without these devices (and am currently working full/overtime with them). Marc |

And of course, pushing it as far back as possible, using a VGA cable instead of DVI cable, using a triple/quad shield cable with ferrites, lowering the resoltion/refresh rate (although with LCDs, it may be fixed at 60hz, which is as low as you'd want to go). Marc, I have the Quantum products website open and am about to order the Quantum Home to use at work. My only reason for this is it is a bit cheaper than the pro. My office is quite small with only 5 of us in the one room so I'm hoping the home will be powerful enough. My question is this: As I am based in the uk, I will have to use a plug adaptor to connect the productinto the mains here....do you think this will have any bearing whatesover on it's effeciency, and will it still work the same? Also considering buying the power strip to go with it, but this would mean I'll need to buy about 6 adaoptors to plug everything in, will this be ok do you think?

I believe that if you contact the company directly via email/phone, they can sell you a Quantum Home with a 220v DC adapter, so then you won't need a 220->110v plug adapter (although you may still need a simple plug adapter to make it fit into the outlet). I don't know if the efficiency is any different using these products with a voltage adapter. I do know that Quantum Products licenses their technology to a UK company, but as I recall these UK products were more expensive than importing Quantum Products from the US! Check it out: http://www.russandrews.com/product-Clarity-Pro-featuring-Coherence-Technology-4595.htm http://www.russandrews.com/product-Clarity-Mains-4584.htm As for the power strips, I would NOT bother using these in the UK -- you'd need all sorts of adapters to make these things work, and I'm not convinced it'd be worth all the trouble. There are plenty of other devices on the market that don't make you go through all this hassle (although I've found none that are as helpful as the Quantum Products for some situations) Marc |
Thanks a lot Marc...i couldn't see an e-mail contact on the website though.Don't suppose you have it?
