The setting in the back is a bit of a mystery to me. I can't say with
any certainty that I've noticed any difference using that setting (which
is also available on the Quantum Companion). According to the
literature, lower numbers (1,2,3...) are for when you want to sleep,
relax, etc., while higher numbers/letters (9,A,B,C...) are for when you
want to be busy/productive/efficient. And zero is supposed to be a
special setting with both properties.

I know that Diane/Evie can't stand hers being on anything higher than
5, and I know that I keep mine around 5 as well, for no particular
reason. :-)

Also, the knob in the front is to decrease/increase the strength, which
I think also decreases/increases the radius of effectiveness.

Let us know what you observe, good, bad, or indifferent.

Ok thanks Marc!  I will turn it to 5 & check it out. What do you have the dial set to?  Loni

I usually have mine set to about "10 o'clock", but I think Diane/Evie
may have it cranked to the max (?)

You could always crank it to the max just to see if it actually does
anything even at the max setting, but be on the lookout for any adverse
reactions, and if you have some, turn it off until they pass and then
try again at a lower setting.

Hi, Loni, Marc, All,

I am incredibly behind in my email (still!--what's new?)  I have not been home and will not be home again for some time after today, so if I owe you an email, sorry I am unlikely to respond soon.  :(

ANYWAY.....  The setting on the back, Loni....  It is supposed tobe sort of a "mood" setting.  If I remember correctly, 0 and 1 are supposed to be neutral.  For some reason, my body doesn't seem to like neutral.  Settings 2 to 5 or 6 are supposed to be "chill out", sleep, having an intimate discussion.... settings.  I LOVE setting 2 and 3.  As Marc said, I don't seem to do so well above 5.  Above the 5 or 6 setting, the settings are energizing.  The energizing settings stress me out.  Now, this is just me--it might be different for you.  Also, I cannot say I have spent much time in anyof the settings but 2 or 3--I might find on particular days I like other settings.  Come to think of it, I once had a day I felt so sleepy I couldn't wake up and I did find upping the Pro temporarily to setting 5 helped.

Did you call on the phone and talk to Margi, Loni?  She really gave mealot of great info.  I bought my Pro by phone and I highly recommend asking alot of questions before buying.  She told me that I shouldn't set the Pro up too high at first but gradually increase the settings. I didn't do this--for me at the time, I needed the relief of the Quantum just to be IN that house.  However, the fogginess/detox it created led to my hand accident, which was life threatening and from which I have yet to fully recover.  So, obviously, I should have taken her advice to go slow more seriously.  Learn from my mistake, Loni--you will find a setting you just love very quickly, but don't hang out there.  Start slowly and work up to that setting over a month or so.  Either that, or unplug the Pro after 30 mins. or an hour and build up the time.

Hope it works wonderfully for you,
Diane

Hi again,

I have mine set to "2:30ish" to "3 o'clock", usually (if it were a clock instead of a dial).  It only goes to about "5 o'clock".  I crank it a bit higher at particular times of the day to deal with more people being home--usually from 3pm to 10pm--and Christmas season with all the lights is a real nightmare and so I set it higher to deal with that.  Also, Loni, the longer you leave it on a setting you like, the better the atmosphere will feel.  I have been gone for months from that house and when I would enter, especially the bedroom I have it in, it felt wonderful--like the room was just waiting for me to return.  A very grounded, peaceful feeling.

Hope you like it too,
Diane

Hi, Loni,

I completely severed a major artery (Median artery), the Median nerve, a nerve bundle, and 3 tendons on a ceramic mug I dropped while washing dishes!  I felt the mug slip out of my hand as I was rinsing it and knew it had broken from hitting the porcelain cast iron divider between the double sinks, but I was so foggy I didn't realize anything else had happened till I saw the red water and brought my hand out of the water to reach for a towel.  I was still so clueless I was trying to figure out where all the gushing "red stuff" was coming from!  lol  Oh, yeah, its from me!  DUH.

So don't allow yourself to get to this point, Loni!

Good luck,
Diane
