Someone wrote about this some time ago. I had trouble downloading it,
and had to again, but I installed it the other day. When I first turned it on, whew, didn't like that a bit, at any setting, because I could feel it, almost enough to say I could 'hear' it. But I left it on medium, and after that initial few minutes, I have to say it really improves the feeling of the whole cabin. I vary the settings during the day, but for me the medium, to medium low range seems the best. Much better than with the pc off even. I can't turn everything off now at night either, because of the cold temps, so I may try sleeping with it on too, and see what happens. Here's a link for anyone else that wants to try it: http://www.quantumproducts.com/quantumbytesupport/ |

I leave mine set to "3" at both home and work, which is a fairly low setting (the settings go from "1" to "20"). But I am also using some other stuff at the same time, and that has an effect on which setting to use on the software. Marc |
I'm not good with computers. I would not want to simply download the software from a site. I would find a way to lose it somehow or mess it up. I would be interested in a disc that I can put into the computer and install it that way in all my computers. Is that possible? Will they let you order a disc? Thanks. --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@u...> wrote: > > > But I left it on medium, and after that initial few minutes, I have to > > say it really improves the feeling of the whole cabin. > > I'm glad to hear the Quantum Byte software is working for you! There are places that sell the software on the disc. For example: http://www.advancedliving.com/item97179.ctlg It might be good to call and find out if its on a CD or a floppy, though (although many computers seem to still have both). The advantage of the free demo download software is that you can see if it does anything for you without having to spend any money. Marc |
As I said, I am not at all computer literate. I can send email and surf the web and that is about it. When I try to download stuff it is sometimes a problem. I've found by opening stuff from the download site instead of saving to disc I can sometimes get it to install for me. When the little box comes up and asks which program do you wish to open with I can never get it to work. I bought a program called stuffit that I thought would work but I could never get it to work either. I was not able to open the program after it downloaded it off the web. I would like to try it first before buying it. If anybody knows of some freeware on the web that I can install so that I can open the program after downloading it that would be appreciated. Also, wouldn't it be better to buy it as a disc so that you can load it on to two computers and not have to pay for it twice. Like I say, I'm not computer literate. I'm sure somebody knows how to download it onto one computer and somehow transfer it onto another. Any input would be appreciated from the computer literate on the group. --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@u...> wrote: > > quaixemen wrote: > > I'm not good with computers. > As I said, I am not at all computer literate.
The software that's available for download on the web is a free 15-day trial for PC's running Microsoft Windows 95 through XP. You download the file, then run the file to install the program. Here's the link: http://www.quantumproducts.com/quantumbytesupport/ If you later choose to buy the program, that is second download. You can take the file that you download and copy it to a floppy disc or CD-R or flash drive, and then install it on a second computer that you might work with, or just keep it in case you need to reinstall it again. As software goes, the Quantum Byte is pretty simple to install and operate. The only complex thing is trying to figure out exactly how it works! I'm very computer literate, have read everything I've found about this software, and yet I don't have a clue as to how it works. And yet my own ES symptoms tell me quite clearly that it does work. Hey Quaixeman,
I don't know if there's any specific problem with your pc, but the troubles you describe do happen sometimes. Sometimes a file gets corrupted in the download, and has to be redone. Sometimes the file just is corrupt, and you can't get it to work with certain programs. If you have a slow internet connection, like I do, sometimes that buggers things up. I think this one would be a good one to try for you though, to download I mean. You won't get better at it by avoiding it. ;) If it gives you the option of save -it should, pick save, make sure when the box pops up asking where to save it to, you select your desktop, or some folder you want it in.-Just make sure you know where, so you can open it later. This was the easiest software to install and use, I've ever used. So easy in fact, I kept thinking I was missing something. And for sure, at the price it is, you want to try it first. Sometimes the downloading problems come because of Internet Explorer's new security, which I find a big pain, and it doesn't want to let you download. -Usually there will appear another link then that you can click to do it, instead of it being automatic. Once it's on your desktop, just double click, and hit "next" on any boxes it brings up. It'll just sit down in your tray silently doing it's thing once it's installed. -Double click to bring it up, and play with the settings. Hope that is help or encouragement to try it! -Oh, and I use "Star Downloader" when those programs are necessary. It's free and never given me any problems. Marc, I think it works in the same way as the sound generators that you can actually hear. Rather than keeping a set frequency, it is going through a repeated range of them, the setting determining what they are. I very much liked that type of thing on a sound generator I'd tried at one time, and haven't been able to locate that particular one again. It's all in the frequencies, whether you hear them or not. For anyone that wants to play with a free download sound generator, the one of two I like best- can't find first- is called "Brainwave Generator" a search should bring up where to find it. I like one particular setting for dealing with headaches, and also the one for getting to sleep from wide awake- although I repeat it several times to stay asleep. YOu can find lists of Rife's frequencies all over the web, and program them in, to see what works for you, or health conditions. ~Snoshoe --- In [hidden email], "quaixemen" <straitguy@s...> wrote: > > > As I said, I am not at all computer literate.
