Protection from the Computer

Loni Rosser
I went to Home Depot & clerk there said to wrap the wires of computer in aluminum foil to act as conduit. Will that cut down exposure do you think?

What about putting a piece of metal in front of the computer to cut EMF? I know Mu Metal is good but that is expensive.

Grounded aluminum foil will cut electric fields, but will have no effect on
magnetic fields.

If you want to reduce magnetic fields, you really need mumetal. See tutorial
on using other materials for magnetic shielding at

Do you have to ground the aluminum foil?

Grounding vastly improves the shielding perfromance.

Remember: MuMetal is a trade name, like Kleenex.
