That appears to be the same product as "Modifilan", which
has been around for a long time:

http://www.modifilan.com/

I've heard an occasional good report about Modifilan,
although when I tried it a several years ago, I found it
impossible to tolerate, even in tiny doses (anxiety,
inability to sleep, chest pains, etc.)

I'd be interested to know if anyone else here has tried it, and what they thought - I've considered it myself, recently.  Marc, why do you think youreacted to it like that? A strong detox reaction, or to (what I assume would be) the naturally present iodine?

I don't think it's the iodine -- I've experimented with various iodine
supplements and did not get that particular reaction. I don't really
know why I reacted so strongly to this.

Note that this product is merely concentrated seaweed (the fiber has
been removed). In my local health food stores, you can buy this
particular type of seaweed (unconcentrated) in dehydrated form. It's
called "Kombu". I find this more tolerable, although I do get kind
of hyper on it as well, so it's a similar reaction, although not as
strong and more easily controllable by portion size.

Interesting. Do you feel that you derive enough benefit from the
non-concentrated form for it to be worthwhile, or did you just try it
as an experiment?

Actually, I was so sensitive that I felt even the regular seaweed
was a bit strong, and didn't continue with it. However, some people
may find this a beneficial (and inexpensive) way to get some minerals
into their diet, as seaweed is high in minerals. I tried various
kinds of dehydrated seaweed (Kombu, Wakame, and Hijiki), and only felt
best when using very small amounts of each. And I think that the
Wakame and Hijiki gave fewer negative reactions than the Kombu.
