Petition for no-cost analog meters

 


This is a Move-On petition, and if they get a lot of signatures quickly, they will share the petition with their entiremembership nationwide.  This would be a HUGE breakthrough.  So pleasesign it (takes just a minute), & then forward this email toeveryone you know, in every state (since this is a nationwidedisaster), asking them to do the same.  Keeping the older analog metersavailable FOR NO EXTRA COST is essential to protecting health andprivacy.  If there is an ongoing charge to keep the older meters, manypeople won't want to do it...and the radiation emitted by yourneighbors' meters will increase the exposure of YOUR FAMILY & YOURPETS.  That's why it's so important that they be allowed at no cost(just as we've never had to pay an additional cost just to have aregular meter all these years).

Subject: No Cost Analog Meters
Smart meters are being rolled out despite being a class 2bcarcinogen, causing heart arrhythmia, head ache, other health problemsand invasion of privacy.  Private military organizations and utilitieswere awarded 3.4 billion to implement smart meters and smart gridagainst peoples wishes and behind the false premise of "green".  Weshould be able to choose if we want our privacy invaded and if we wantto expose ourselves to carcinogens. This invades our Constitutionalrights to privacy, liberty and life.  NO MORE CANCER, NO MORE TRAMPLINGON OUR CONSITUTION!
That's why I signed a petition to The California State House,The California State Senate, Governor Jerry Brown, The United StatesHouse of Representatives, The United States Senate and President BarackObama, which says:
" People should not be charged a penny to retain their healthand privacy.  Smart meters/smart grid is an assault on the health ofAmericans and an invasion of our privacy.  People should be informedabout the risks of having a smart meter and not charged a penny toretain their health and privacy. That is extortion and should bepunishable be jail instead of funded by our government!  PUC’s andlegislators across the country need to back our rights to heath, lifeand privacy!  Corporations should not be able to profit at the expenseof public health or by trampling on our Constitutional rights!"

If you want to take an extra minute or two, you can add a commentwhen you sign.  You can read what others have written...some are veryshort.  I wrote a lengthier one: "Thesesmart meter installations & maintenance are giving WINDFALL PROFITSto the utilities. They profit by firing meter readers, and--even thoughcustomers pay the full costs of the meter programs--the utilities areallowed to treat the meters as THEIR property and to earn 10-15% ofadditional profits EACH YEAR. (For PG$E alone, that's nearly $300million annually.) Quite a rip-off of the public by these monopolies!Whatever extra costs may be incurred in providing the older-type analogelectromechanical meters to customers, those costs should be bornecompletely by the UTILITY, taken out of its windfall profit. Customershave already paid (unwillingly) for the smart meters, & it would beextortion to make them pay yet again to retain an analog meter (andsome couldn't afford to)!
We need NO-COST ANALOG electric, gas & water meters!!"
