PERSONAL GROUNDING FOR CHEAP!!
Due to my living circumstances and finances, I go the cheap route. I just run a grounded cord from the outlet to my bed and make contact somehow with the alligator clip, such as tape it inside my sock or on my body somewhere. Poof! Instant grounding for cheap. A voltage meter can verify that you are zero voltage.
If you do that and feel worse, then you are likely getting feedback from the outlet. So, use a pot with dirt in it and run the alligator cord from the copper tube????? Anybody see why either of these methods would not work as well as the expensive pads and crap they sell online?
