Outlet update

Hi all,

I've been monitoring that outlet I replaced a week ago, and it seems
that the Stetzer meter readings are permanently lower with the new
outlet installed. Before, the readings could be up to 400 to 800
in the evenings, now they are 80 to 250. The outlet that was
in there before looked like it was bought at a dime store -- the
outlet that I replaced it with is much higher quality.
Specifically, the new outlet was about $1.70 at Home Depot --
a Leviton Pro BR15. I see that the cheaper outlets are about $0.50
at Home Depot. One notable thing about these new outlets is that
the plug fits into them tightly, which allows for a better
connection -- that alone could reduce the Stetzer meter readings.
Also, a lot of cheap outlets just have a wire stuck in a back hole,
which doesn't give a very stable connection and can cause
overheating of the outlet. With these new outlets, you connect
the wire via screws (which is what I did) or you can poke the wire
in the back hole and clamp it down with the screw (which provides a
better connection than just poking it into a springloaded hole).

I'd say that before one fills their house full of Stetzer filters,
it would be better (and cheaper) to first buy higher quality outlets,
so you have a firm connection between the wire and the outlet,
and also between the outlet and the plug.
