Are there any cordless phones that are not dect that someone can recommend? I would like a speaker phone. Trying to get rid of my dect cordless. Loni [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
I found even digital phones that don't say DECT on them can have their base stations radiating continually.
The only cordless phones that don't seem to be radiating continually that I know of are analog wireless phones (e.g., the old 900 MHz). But even then, it's not unlike using a cell phone. Why not use a wired speaker phone ? --- In [hidden email], Loni <loni326@...> wrote: > > > Are there any cordless phones that are not dect that someone can recommend? I would like a speaker phone. Eco DECT means lower power consumption.
The HF radiation is the same as any other DECT phone. It must be DECT Eco Mode Plus. Only then, there are no signals. Orchid is a good one. Puk replies - that's the gigaset eco plus, but even the orchid gives off RF
to the head, so to say there are no signals is erroneous. In a message dated 07/04/2011 10:29:34 GMT Daylight Time, [hidden email] writes: Eco DECT means lower power consumption. Be aware that Siemens Gigaset stands for a lot of different types.
It is the brand name for their DECT phones. I haven't really followed the discussion, but why does the phone need to
be cordless? I don't know the size of your house, but we have a corded phone with a *very long* cord and that way we can still make phone calls all over the house. It's also a lot cheaper than a cordless phone and more reliable. No batteries needed and in case of a power cut you can still make phone calls. Rixta |
It's family members basically but long cord is certainly something to consider. Loni

When my family members needed a cordless phone a few years ago, I got them an analog Uniden 900 MHz from Walmart for about $10-- only radiates during usage, and not all the time. It's not available anymore from Walmart, so then I had bought it online-- actually getting a used one on ebay...

Why have just one phone?
Have a corded speaker phone for yourself and a portable for family use. I have a five-way splitter and corded phones all over the house, (2 stories) plus my mom insists on having the one portable phone and luckily I was able to get a new 900 mHz before they went out of stock. I hope it's not radiating 24/7. She still tries to hand it off to me when someone wants to talk to me on her line. No, no, no thank you. If you can get an older corded used phone without the LCD display, that will cut down on radiation. You definitely don't want the LCD in the handset which you hold to your head. Thrift stores have them around here for $1-$5. I have a speaker phone that I got new for $10, plus an older one that was my grandpa's. I wrote an email to the Orchid people one time and asked if their phone works in the USA, but didn't get a reply. Does anyone know?
