Personally, I never liked coffee, although it seems like this might have been a factor for my now poorly functioning liver... Marc |

Alkalized water, might also make a difference with anxiety and shakes.? (Or anything which alkalizes the metabolism, rather than propetuating an acid state.) Diane, I'm adding minerals to my water now. Doesn't that make it more alkanized? Amy [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Also, I've had some luck with taking Inositol for anxiety: http://ezinearticles.com/?Natural-Anxiety-Cure---Inositol&id=495556 Marc |

Hi Amy,
My understanding is you need a particular mineral mix, but I could be wrongas I have not done research in this area. You might do well with one ofthe hydrogen supplements, tho, as they also help lower acidity. Marc's mega-H or my Hydrogen Boost product both work on alkalizing metabolism. (I wasn't able to take the mega-H product for some reason--possibly it had possible gluten added, don't remember, but it is probably the better of the2 supplements if you can take it). Also, the shakes and anxiety might respond to balancing your electrolytes. Have you tried (or are you able to drink) Gatorade? I can't drink this due to being sugarfree, but like aproduct called Electro-blast. Somebody else here--Stewart or Bill maybe???--takes a good electrolyte they add to water, as well. I forget the name of the product. Look in your copy of Prescriptions for Nutritional Health and read about electrolytes and balancing them. Then look up the individual electrolytes and read deficiencies connected with them. Thisis how I found I had a problem with this.. I think also that the night shakes and anxiety (for me, at least) are linked to hormone imbalance. I think this has alot to do with our inabilityto sleep well, too. Personally, I get into patterns where I will sleep well a while and then get thrown off for who knows what reason(s). BUT one thing I have found is eating breakfast at the same time, earlier in the day will affect my sleeping patterns at night for the better. (I am a person who is easily side-tracked and "forget" to eat! So if I forget breakfast for a couple days, I have found this can profoundly affect my abilityto sleep, sometimes throwing me into a completely chaotic pattern.) I think the anxiety and shakes you are talking about (and I experience these sometimes too) are partly linked to circadian rhythms. These rhythms are set by body hormones, but the hormones respond to various things, such as eating patterns and nutrition. Electrolyte balance and metabolic pH play a part with the hormones and running the orchestral body balance too. There is a good book which explains a bit about hormonal balance. Actually the book was written as a weight-loss book, but the last half or more of the book is about how nutrition and eating patterns influence hormonalbalance. The book is called, "Mastering Leptin", and was written by Byron J. Richards, CCN I was so impressed with this book that I called Byron 4 years ago and asked if he would help establish a nutritional plan for me. Some of the supplements I take/have taken are his idea and some have been mine. But he oversees it all. He is the one who suggested taking calcium AEP and pantethine (and the amounts)for my blood pressure plummets/adrenal gland issues. Before Byron (2004bb), I was only able to function about 3 hours (of light activity)/day. After Byron (2005ab ;) ), I was nearly normal in my ability to exert myself, tho I do have to keep on top of the adrenal issue and to some degree my stamina is not quite normal. In otherwords, I am not able to sustain unlimited activity without the help of increased hydrogen, alkalizing, nutritional supplements, and periods of rest. For me, it takes constant vigilance to achieve the balance that even approximates normal function (sleeping pattern, circadianrhythm, hormone balance, energy, adrenal and lymphatic function....). If I have a chaotic life (like the last 6 months), then I cannot focus well on my needs and my ability to function suffers. I mention this because you, too, Amy, are in a chaotic period in your life right now which might beplaying a part in why you have begun recently to have these particular problems. Very interesting stuff there Diane. Yes, life seems a bit chaotic right now, but honestly I have never been able to sleep well. I was a sickly child in the hospital lots, and I remember, even at home, I was never a morning person, always unable to sleep at night. It continued in my teenage years, with school being a hell to get up for. Now as an adult, it's only gotten worse. I mean, I'm homeschooling my children, but it's frustrating lying there for hours at night, finally getting to sleep around 4 or 5 (sometimes later) and then not starting school until the afternoon. I wish to God I was a morning person!!! Supermom you know? Able to leap out of bed in a single bound. So you've written some interesting things about sleep, breakfast, circadian rhythms, adrenals and such that I will research more. ?I will get the gatorade next time I get to the store. Going to check out the Byron book too as I've got some things to buy on amazon anyway.
