Hi,

I discovered this group today and have been reading furiously, trying to get
caught up. My husband is electrically sensitive, something we realized only
several months ago although he has been very seriously ill for over six years.
Countless doctors and alternative health practitioners couldn't diagnose or help
him -- years of useless treatments and enormous expense, and no one even
suggested electrical sensitivity. But, like I said, a few months ago the puzzle
pieces fell into place. (Some friends and I had been discussing Chernobyl, and
later in an unrelated conversation someone mentioned Q-link pendants.) I was
frankly stunned when the realization dawned, and horrified that it had taken so
long for us to figure things out. Later, we tested my husband's reactions to the
presence and absence of EMF stimuli, and we are satisfied with our diagnosis.
Reading your posts has been like reading my husband's medical journal, or my
own records of his long illness.

Anyway, we have been researching ES for several months now, and I am so glad
to have found this forum. It's an enormous comfort just to feel not quite so
alone. We long ago realized we had to find help for my husband independently of
the health care profession. And we have "friends" who are still trying to convince
us that electrical sensitivity is scientifically unproven and therefore not worth
pursuing as an avenue of research. I tell them more or less what Marc said at
the beginning of this forum: if it works, if you feel better because of x, y, or z --
does the scientific theory behind it really matter? Let the lab techs sort out the
explanations later. The challenge for us has been figuring out which "solutions" to
try first. How to weed out the snake oil? This has been a long hard road for us,
with many disappointments along the way, so we are a little gun-shy. Reading
about your experiences is a great help, and not just because your testimonials
may save us some time or money... There's a huge psychological boost that
comes from being in the (virtual) company of people who are facing the same
challenges we are, and who are all pulling together to find answers. So, thank
you. It's good to be here.
