Yes, I believe it is Neurontin. I wasn't given an exact spelling.

Thanks for the info about your husband's experience.

Glenn
Hi. I just stopped taking it because I developed more and more of a
tolerance to it (was taking more and more to receive the same help). I was able to
take it for over 2 years before I was taking so much that my doctor was
concerned about the dosage.
I started with less than 100 mg.s and by the end of the approx. 2 years
was taking as much as 5000 mg.s
It did help me a lot with the E.S., which for me is manifested as
agitation and insomnia. Unfortunately, it was also *extremely* fatiguing, an effect
that supposedly wears off for most people as they get used to the drug
(remained extremely fatiguing for me).
Neurontin raises the threshold for neuronal firing at the cell membrane.
My doctor thinks my e.s. is from the threshold for neuronal firing being too
low.
Fish oil: I tried a really good fish oil (also helps stablize the cell
membrane) and it almost completely got rid of the e.s. Only problem for me,
is I have chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome (cfids) and many things
make me run a fever and feel like I have the flu. Fish oil made me really run
a fever! This is apparently really, really unusual.
I would recommmend someone start with high dose, good quality fish oil
before going to neurontin. I used a brand by Barry Sears, Ph.D., (no
affiliation with him or his company, etc.)
