Hey everyone,
I'm quite sure that I've come across claims that negative ions can counteract some of the undesirable effects of EMFs and/or are generally good for our health. I can't recall if I've read anything to the contrary here, though. Since EMF emitting devices are said to release an excess of positive ions, it sounded interesting. I found a site (no affiliation, lol), for something called the "WeBe Bracelet". You can see it at http://webeliving.com/ Essentially, it's a silicon bracelet (there are decorative ones, too, whichI'm not looking at), which contains a blend of ground minerals embedded directly in the silicon, which are purported to constantly release negative ions. from the site: "These product incorporate high-grade minerals, tourmaline and germanium, which have a natural charge, ground into a powder called Anion Powder, into liquid silicone during the manufacturing stage. Every WeBe™ Negative Ion Bracelet and Necklace worn next to the skin allows a minimum of 1200 negative ions per cc (Sports Series more than 1500) to penetrate and be absorbed into the blood stream returning an ionic balance to the blood cells creating an environment for improved health and well being." Does anyone have any thoughts on these? Thanks! R. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I've tried using electronic negative ion generators by my computer, but it just made things worse, causing a "pins & needles" sensation on my skin. I have noticed benefits from small ozone generators, which produce far fewer negative ions as a byproduct. I recall having an adverse reaction to having tourmaline on my person. Marc |
No Marc,
thast is not a right viewpoint. First of all, the negative air-ions do fall slowly to the gound. So the ion generator must be placed as high as possible in the room, in order to have the greatest area for them to come into. Secondly, those generators are nice, but contain a lot of *dirty air*. They transmit a lot of VLF into the air, which can be measured several meters away, even through walls. And I think, that just this *dirty air* is what you cannot stand. So if placing these ion generators high and far away, you probably will have less trouble with them.
