Hi, Mary. I have the same question but can offer you a personal perspective. My Kindle 2 broke so I have to get it updated to a Kindle 3, which means that when it's not near a WiFi router (2.4 GHz usually), it will roam to pick up 3G & 4G signals, which are in the MHz which really bothers me a lot more than WiFi (GHz) at this point. To give you an idea, when I put the Kindle on airplane mode (which means it's neither sending nor receiving any kind of wireless signal) I feel a lot less symptoms. I don't think it's a super-powerful machine, but again, I seem to react primarily to the wireless stuff more than whatever's coming from the battery or other components of the Kindle. In general, it affects me a lot less than my laptop, which is pretty powerful & eye-frying even w/ the WiFi off.
Love & blessings,
Elysia

Subject: [eSens] Need info about Kindles
Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if a Kindle can still emit a WiFi signal even if the WiFi setting is off? Or if there is any other type of pulsed radiation that could possibly be emitting from it with that setting off?
thanks,
Mary
