My name is Hillel, and I from Tel Aviv Israel. I suffered since 1997 a condition called RSI, which means pain in the hands, upper back and neck, due to trigger points caused by sitting prolonged hours in front of a computer. Half a year ago, after a very emotionally stressed year , and after getting a new screen for my computer, I suddenly felt sensitive when the computer was on. Also standing in the same room was enough. It was the new screen omitting some chemical, I believe, that got me started on many symptoms I am about to describe, beginning with a burning in the face. Soon after, I got so electro sensitive I could not work a computer, stand next to a stove, go on the bus or go out in the sun! I was very scared, thought that my life is ending at the age of 37. and did not know what to do. My doctor said I must be imagining it. Until today, I don't know of any doctor in Israel who knows about this condition. And I can't tell people about it, they treat me strangely after it, thinking me strange. Funny thing is, I got allergic to shampoo a well. Seems I got some kind of of chemical sensitivity combined. Then I got allergic to dust and pollen. I am a Phd political education student trying to write a dissertation, and this stopped me, or at least slowed me down. What I did the past half a year was to concentrate on being happier. I eat less and better, drink a lot, and changed my environment (I separated from a bad relationship I have been in, and moved to a radiation free apartment I monitored with a meter). Since then, symptoms have gradually lessened. I feel a bit better; can work the computer with external keyboard. My allergies are still with me, but are less, and I can go out into the sun with no problem (In Israel there is lots of sun ). I wish I did not have all these various pains. RSI, Electrosesetivity, allergies, and I am sure they are all related. I would love to hear recovery stories from people in this forum. It is my fear that those who have recovered wish to return to the healthy people world, and there for do not stay around the sick forums. Can't blame them. Still, maybe some one can give me an account on how he fixed himself, herself. Thank you for listening, HIllel |
Hi HIllel,
Your symptoms sound very familiar to what many people in this list experience. I am curious if you have silver amalgam fillings (mercury) in your mouth? That is the most common cause for these types of symptoms. Mercury is known to poison many different systems in our bodies, and result in many different symptoms. In my case I had 7 huge fillings in my mouth causing mercury toxicity, and my symptoms started with chemical sensitivity, then electrical sensitivity, and hypothyroidism. With the help of people on this list, I've reduced my symptoms dramatically. I don't think that's a problem on this list, because this list is less than a year old, and this seems to be a problem that takes years to completely recover from. So I don't think anyone has yet become well enough to want to leave. For example, I started making progress against this back in 2001, after I got my mercury fillings removed. It took me a 2 years before I was able to return to working full-time sitting in front of a computer 8 hours/day. And even though today I mostly have no symptoms around most things, there are still some exceptions to this -- LCD computer monitors or CRT monitors run in high-resolution mode (1024x768 or higher) still give me problems, as due cellphones and headphones. So for these things, I still just avoid them. Marc |

Welcome to the list, Hillel. I have received much and valuable
information from this list. I hope you will get what you need. Everyone is different and has a little different angle on the "cure". I have tried many of the remedies and have gotten good results from many of them. I am not surprised your doctor thought you were imagining it. A neurologist told me to see a behavioral counselor. Little did he know how much therapy I have already had! I definitely recommend removing the metal fillings with an informed dentist, then heavy metal and toxin detox programs and immune system regeneration. Remove yourself as much as possible in the mean time and do the detox slowly. How to detox, well we have been discussing many good ways for months. Where shall we start? Colon cleanse, kidney cleanse, liver-gall bladder flush and cleanse, and especially rebuild your intestines with probiotics (good bacteria), raw food and enzymes. The nerves need attention. Choline (cholinesterase and acetylcholine) are effected by many pesticides and toxins. Cleaning out the mercury and other crap from the neurotransmitters and nerve endings as well as regenerating the myelinated sheath around the nerves made of fats and proteins. Eat organic foods. There are many products you can buy to eat, wear, use, etc. All will come in due time. What and where are your particular interests?
