I am looking for a source of information on the dangers of microwave ovens to pass on to people who are not familiar with the issue. That means short and very well presented info is best. A website would be good. Thanks. Paul |

Do you mean their effects on food or people standing near them when
they're on? Sarah -----Original Message----- From: danceswild [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Friday, 28 January 2005 5:58 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [eSens] Microwave oven info? Yes. You'll get hit with quite a blast anywhere in the room from a
microwave. Definitely don't let kids put their faces near them while they are cooking. My recommendation is to pull the cord on the thing and never use it unless you want to kill someone slowly. Agreed. What these ovens do to food is also not good. Apparently the
radiation turns proteins into a substance that is not recognised by the body......its amazing how little research has been done into microwaved food and its effects on human health. Wow, that is shocking information about microwaves and what it does to our
blood. I think I'll get rid of my microwave. I can't imagine continuing to use given my ES challenge. Thats all I need is to be fixing things on one side, and cooking myself on the other. Ditto; I'm packing up my microwave this afternoon. So far I've de-commissioned wireless phones, cell phones, wireless Internet routers, dimmer switches...and I'm turning off ALL electrical circuits at night, every night, to reduce EMF exposure. One exception: I leave ONE circuit on to power the refrigerator. Does anyone have a simple list handy of every electrical item I need to get rid of? I'm serious. I should just gather everything up at one time and have a huge garage sale, maybe raise some $$ to pay for EMF protection devices and nutritional supplements. Well, in theory, you shouldn't need to get rid of EVERYTHING -- that's the idea behind the devices, diet, and supplements. But certainly the wireless stuff is probably a good idea. Also, if you've got those energy-efficient compact florescent light bulbs, replace them with the old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs. (or even better, incandescent full-spectrum light bulbs) But I don't think most people are willing to give up their computer or TV, even though those are probably high on the list or appliances that are bad for you. Do not think too much, try not o think if only for short times.

Another "bad" item is the clock radio. If you've got one either throw
it the way of the rest or keep it well away from the bed if you leave the electricity on. Sarah Ditto; I'm packing up my microwave this afternoon. Right you are, Sarah. I forgot to mention clock radios -- these were among the first to go for us. I've also gotten rid of all bedside lamps. And we have*nothing* plugged into the outlets near the bed any more -- no electrical wires running underneath, no phone cords. I think in the bedroom we have one floor lamp positioned as far from the bed as possible, and that's it. Of course at night the circuit to the bedroom is turned off anyway. We keep a few flashlights near the bed in case we need to get up and walk around at night. But once you get into the habit of having the circuits off it's no big deal -- and we do find that we sleep better. If you have some circuits on timers (we had a bunch of these for an aquaterrium -- fog machines and waterfalls that worked on a schedule -- the fields generated are pretty high. The wires for ours ran under the couch and we couldn't figure out at first why the living room couch was such a problem spot. Timers and dimmers in general seem to be bad news.
