Amy,
I am sure metal roofs make a problem! There is no explanation for that (such as EMF reflection). If the roof is not metal and the walls are metal, somehow it is much better... There are other people experiancing that! As I kept suggesting - try wearing a simple helmet made of aluminium foil, and please tell me whether you feel a similar discomfort!? I don't get how some people claim they get comfort from such helmets! Drasko |
Talking about metal roofs: I know they are a problem and our house does have a metal roof and we should do something about that. Replacing the tin with tiles is probably impossible because of the structure of the roof and besides we absolutely don't have the money for that.
I was told somewhere that grounding the roof would be a good option, but I don't really know how to do that. I know you need electrical wire and metal sticks that go into the ground. But does anyone know how to attach the wire to the roof? And to the sticks? I have no idea how you could do that, else than with duct tape, which of course wouldn't last long. Anyone any tips? Rixta,It is extremely easy to ground a metal roof, moreover it is probably already grounded, but I have noticed no difference whether it grounded or not, as the issue is weird...Would you like to do it anyway, any handyman from neighborhood can check by a simple meter whether it has been grounded already and if not - screw a wire from roof to the nearest grounding... But if you don't currently feel the difference between being under the roof and, say, out at the terrace, than better don't waste the time, I wouldsuggest! But as Marc points out, people are different so you don't take mysuggestion for a truth!

It appears that you are right and the roof is already grounded. That solves a big problem, as I don't need to do anything anymore. But at the same time it leaves me with the question why I'm so sick, definitely for a big part caused by EMF (I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I more and more start to feel like it's not this house, but the country that makes me sick. I'm originally from the Netherlands, where all wires are underground. Never had any problems at all. Then I moved to Australia where outside the big cities the wires are all on poles and then the trouble began. So there could only be two options: moving to the middle of nowhere with no electricity in the wide area, or moving to the big city where the wires are underground. Both are no options.
Leaves only devices that protect myself, but the opinions are so mixed about all these things, that I have no idea what to do. We just don't have the money to try everything. And trial and error seems to be the only way to find out what works for you.
