Mercury through blood/brain barrier

richsurf77
After doing a search on here and reading through several posts about
mercury, it seems like most people think that having mercury amalgam
fillings removed is the single most effective way of reducing symptoms
caused by mercury.

I have symptoms related to mercury and I'm wondering if the body is
actually detoxing alot of this itself and it is almost entirely the
fact that the fillings are releasing more mercury every day that is
causing nearly all of the problems. The reason for me thinking this
might be the case is that I recently read an article that said fillings
release about 30 times more mercury per day than eating fish, and as
most peoples symptoms only get worse gradually, surely alot of this
mercury is being detoxed or made safe by the body on it's own. Although
I realise there must be some left in the body because peoples symptoms
have not gone away entirely.

Yes and no. Some people don't seem to have the ability to detox
metals (or their diet is missing key ingredients which would allow them
to), so they may need a lot of external help in getting the mercury
to leave the body. There are all sorts of things to try in this
area, but it will probably be trial & error to find something that
you think is working.

One additional problem (at least for me) is that chelating mercury
makes my ES symptoms worse, so I generally try to take mercury
chelators when I'm not planning on spending time in front of
a computer, etc.

But yes, there are those that do well simply by removing the source
(e.g. dental fillings, fish), and let the body remove it slowly
over the next few years.
