Memory Foam Mattresses

asurisuk
i've just bought an Ergoflex high density memory foam mattress - supposed to be the market leader. The support it gives is amazing, but I am nevertheless finding it impossible to sleep on because I feel like the foam is so dense that I am no longer 'earthed', a problem i did not have on my old, less dense reflex foam mattresses.

Has anyone got a memory foam mattress, and if so what are your experiences - good and bad?

Any ideas how i could earth my body without using anything metal? (must be cheap!)

cheers, jane

PUK - You should be no more or less earthed than before prehaps you need to
give it time to adjust. With any new product you will be on high alert
for any potential problems a sort of heightened awareness/flight or fight
state - give it time and perserveer, you could also try putting some nice big
plants in your bedroom ?

Re: Memory Foam Mattresses/Schumann resonance

maybe i'm thinking too much. I don't want to get blocked off from the Schumann Resonance thing - i've no idea how it works, what it can and can't pass through. Know anything about that Paul, anyone?

Hi J, I think the s resonance is all encompassing so a simple matress will
not block it, but I am only guessing.

I have an organic latex mattress and I felt a positive difference the firstnight. I really dont think a foam mattress will block the schumann frequencies its highly unlikely in my opinion. Maybe your experincing off gassing symptoms from the matress I know many foam matresses use a lot of chemicalsas fire retardants. You may want to try a mattress cover that will block the gasees from coming out.

You can ground yourself buy buying something like the EX-STATIC™ CONDUCTIVE FABRIC and putting it on your mattress and grounding it with a 4 ft ground rod.

Hi,

I bought the sofa from h--- last year from Ikea.  I usually like Ikea and think their products are relatively green and clean.  However thisone sofa, not so much.  I put it in a storage room with the window open for 1 1/2 months and was seriously thinking I was going to have to take Ikea up on its 60 day return policy because the sofa was still stinking and I was reacting so badly to it.  But I decided to try baking soda on it first.  Within 30 mins the sofa complletely out-gassed and I then swept the baking soda off and the sofa has been fine ever since.  No smell whatsoever!  However, if you should try baking soda on the mattress, do it outside.  The baking soda flies around too much for a person with MCS in a confined space. I reacted to that for a couple days.

Good luck; hope the mattress works for you,
Diane
