Melted Plastic in Dishwasher

Patsy
Hi Everyone,
I have a new problem and it concerns MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity). I don't know if any of you have MCS as many do that are electromagnetic sensitive. Here is my problem. A plastic ring fell down into the bottom of my dishwasher and melted two days ago. Now it has a horrible smell and has a really fast effect on my sensitivity. I always get pain somewhere on my head when I smell a chemical. I have been able to stay clear of any smells like that most of the time. After this happened I got a pain in my temple after smelling the dishwasher. Usually my pain from chemicals has been in the back at the base of my neck but I now have trigeminal neuralgia which is on the side of my face and head. Does anyone have any knowledge on melted plastic? I'm afraid I will have to get a new dishwasher. I first was thinking I could get my husband to load and unload the DW, but I thought the smell was going through the house last night when the furnace was running. I don't need any new problems. Does anyone know if this can be cleaned?

I appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

Patsy

Don't wait - get it professionally serviced!  There are so many different toxic compounds in plastics, especially when they break down.  Just get rid of it somehow - quickly - because the longer you are exposed the worse this is going to get.  Avoid the area of the house like the plague and/or get a decent air filter that really is an air filter and not just an ionizer in the meantime.  Once the offending plastic is gone you can start cleaning, but it'll be hard to know what would help until you're at that point.  Good luck!
