MRI scan, PET, SPECT?

BiBrun
I'm thinking of trying to get a TOF PET scan. On the other hand,
Dr. Gunnar Heuser wants me to get a SPECT scan, because he's
more experienced with those. He says his patients with neurological
problems usually show damage using SPECT. But he says it's important
to go to a good lab as a lot of SPECTs he says are too poor to see the
damage.

I am a bit worried about an MRI but maybe should not be. I would think
fMRI would be more informative (although may involve radioactivity,
which the others do too, but TOF is supposed to require less).

Anyone had any of these brain scans done, and was anything found?
I had a CT scan a few years ago before my symptoms came on and it
was 'normal'.
