Lyme

Merlyn
Someone from th e group emailed me about lyme tests. I lost the
email.I believe a good indicator test for lyme can be found on dr
shoemakers site www.chronicneurotoxins.com. Test is called a vcs (
visual contrast sensitivety) and is specfic for certain toxins
including lyme. Lyme bacteria produce toxins as they are living and
turn into toxins when they die. Test is less than $10.00 If it is
positive email me again and i can advise further.

The VCS test does not distinguish between neurotoxins. There are many
sources of neurotoxins. So a positive VCS does not always indicate
Lyme, it can also be due to toxic mold exposure, ciguatera poisoning
(predator fish), etc.

If you suspect Lyme the best strategy is to find a Lyme-literate MD,
preferably one involved in holistic or integrative medicine (or
'Functional Medicine'), and work with that doctor. Testing for Lyme is
complicated, may require an antibiotic challenge, etc. Also, there is
an interesting experimental test from www.Bowen.org
<http://www.bowen.org/> that claims to be highly accurate. Most Lyme
tests are not very accurate, this is a major problem. There are many
good Lyme Yahoo groups. My favorite is LymeStrategies, that discusses a
natural salt and vitamin C based therapy that seems to help many Lyme
sufferers.
