I found this site that explains a landline phone system.

He didn't find any problems, but mentioned he removed a piece of equipment that we won't need w DSL. Something they use to test the phone line from their office. Anyone know what that is? Meant to write it down.
We needed a new modem & are getting a faster internet signal now.
