I saw some LED light bulbs on www.ccrane.com for as low as $15.

Don't know if they generate much EMR, but could be an alternative to

compact fluorescents which are presumably worse.

Likely very low EMR. (some built in LEDs may have noisy controller
circuits,
but probably not for a 120V bulb). Probably not very bright, but they are
getting brighter. Also, colors probably
rendered even more artificially than fluorescents. Also, I paid $35 for
a bulb and it only lasted 2 months! No idea why it failed. No refund so
far...
