People have changed the light and put in a bunch of small LEDs.
You need to power them at the right voltage which often means some
kind of transformer (but could be a battery?).
The first step would be to see if you actually do much better with the light
disabled, as there are other processors in a screen that are very noisy.
I have heard good things about those new LED projectors--not very
bright and noisy power supply, but could be great for rear projector set up.
