I have different car problems

Amy Green
I also have problems in the car that I can't figure out. I cannot drive more than a few blocks without starting to feel really weak, shaky, and "electrified". However, I can ride in the passengers seat for hours and hours and find it very calming and healing. Why? When I'm driving, I get the same sensations that I do when I'm in a room with fluorescent lights. This doesn't make any sense to me. Any ideas??

Thanks! Amy

Maybe the drivers seat has some airbag sensors within it that the
passenger seat does not? These sensors are supposed to detect
if a person is sitting in the seat, and how far forward in the
seat they are sitting. This controls how much the airbag deploys.

Anyway, that might be one possibility...

Yes, there really are a lot of possibilities that can make you sick ina car,

Most of the EMF in a car comes from:

-alternator
-fuse box
-battery
-direct injection of the engine
-loudspeakers
-tires
-pedals
-gps, cell phone, radar, cd-player, car radio, dashboard electronics,...

And so you'll have to check where these are located. If the alternator is close to your driver seat for instance...

About the battery, avoid cars that have the battery in the trunk like most BMW's and Volvo's (and some other), because then you'll havea battery cable through your entire car, in the BMW's this cable is earthed but in the Volvo V70 it is not (after many complaints they made "grounding the battery cable" a very expensive option!)

Concerning the pedals, I've heard of someone who drove without shoes and socks, and he said it was a bit better that way. I've tried it too, but I'm not sure whether it makes it better or worse...
The EMF in cars is very complicated. I've checked a lot of cars already, also old cars that have almost no electronics and some of them make me more sick than a lot of modern cars... I'm still not sure what I'mmost sensitive of...

I think I'm also sensitive to the EMF that come from the tires (they have a metal layer). After I had my tires replaced I felt a littletingle in my legs, until then I didn't even know tires can make a difference in EMF... I've read that some people demagnetize their tires every 5,000 miles...

You could try measuring the EMF, which could help you locate some EMF-emitters. But don't trust it to select your car. The car I drive now and I'm kinda fine with (Alfa Romeo 147: you don't have that in the States) measures +/- 20 around the driver seat. Other cars I drove that only measured 2, I got much sicker in... I've mailed with someone who bought a new pick-up truck based on measuring (it was not a lot of EMF according to his meter), later he had to sell it because he got sick in the pick-up nevertheless...

Sites with good info on car EMF:

Actually I have the same symptoms as you Amy, I also feel electrified whilst driving most cars... And this is even more so after driving, the following day (sometimes still 2 days later) I'm still "electrocuted". Taking a shower helps a little bit, or grounding...

My sensitivity lowers if I take one half a daily dosage of Manganese (I take it only once every month or so), although I'm sick of taking the Manganese for one day. I'm low in Manganese but you should watch out with taking Manganese as too much can be toxic...

best of luck,
Stephen.

PUK REPLIES - If I go near a fully charged car battery I get stinging in my
face and hands from about 2ft away probably due to vapours from the
battery or charged particles latching onto my skin ?

PUK rewplies - proximity to electronics at the wheel perhaps eg, airbag
sensors, dash electronics, fuse and really board location etc..

puk replies - real lateral thinking here - the rear veiw mirror might be
focusing microwaves into your head from masts etc that you pass trhough the
rear window ?
