I have been using my Meterk detector to see where is emfs in my room, sometimes the detector doens't detect anything, but sometimes it does, and close to my bed appearing 0,7mG - 2mG and sometimes nothing or just very small amounts, i know it is not healthy and i would like to know how to protect myself from it.
I used a metal shield against RF that works but i believe it does not protect from EMFs, any advice? I feel kinda confused sometimes because of my health, i feel good but sometimes i don't know exactly if i'm being affected by EMFs... |
Low frequency fields are harder to block than high frequency RF. Most likely the low frequency you're referring to is coming from the electric utility using ground as a neutral instead of beefing up their neutral wires to carry current back to the utility.
Utilities use the earth for ground, so electricity will flow through the earth back to the substation. It's a very unhealthy practice, but most utilities do it even if there are laws against it like in California. It's important if one is looking for a new
place to live to measure both high and low frequency fields first to see if it's safe. That low frequency magnetic field you're measuring may also be from some of your own appliances or electronics. Is where you're measuring near a wall behind a refrigerator,
microwave, dishwasher, etc.? If so, try unplugging and measuring again. The solution could be to move your bed to a different wall. It's very hard and expensive to shield from low frequency magnetic fields. I've seen special thick approx. 4x8' sheeting
from Germany which does the trick and is used around high rises is NY, but it costs thousands of $.

Hmm, interesting, i don't believe they are RF emissions, so i kinda might believe its not that harmful?
And are Low frequency more or less harmless than High frequency ones? |
no less harmful than RF and its very hard to stop unless it's coming from your own devices which you control - when its coming from an electric utility using earth and that path is traveling through your house on its way back to the substation there's basically
nothing to do but move. I once lived in an area where a magnetic field of 3-22 gauss covered several adjoining neighborhoods for a few miles and there seemed to be a disproportionate number of neighbors who had problems with their legs and trouble walking. After
moving there, my feet and legs developing shock-like sensations and pain and by evening each day I felt like I had the flu with swollen glands. The magnetic field in that area started out around 3 mG in the AM and then by evening as more demand was put on
the electrical system the magnetic field greatly increased. Low frequency magnetic fields (related to 50 or 60 Hz) can be measured with gauss meters such as a Trifield 100XE. Radio frequency requires instruments made to measure higher frequencies some meters
are capable of measuring both.
