How to make a Mac safe from wifi/firewire/bluetooth

Patricia
I learned this from a dear friend who has been
employed in the computer world… for 34 years.
Sometimes my computer seems to revert to wifi
even tho I am hooked up by ethernet… and
sometimes my ethernet hookup does not open
correctly in the morning unless I do this at night:

Go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES
Choose NETWORK

Click on a mode you want to be safe from…
or simply turn off at night…
wifi / firewire / bluetooth / ethernet…
you can only change one at a time, so you will
have to repeat the process a few times if you
want to disengage from a combination of modes.

Then go to the bottom of the box where it has
icons for + and - and a wheel for settings.

Click on the ARROW to the right of the wheel.
Choose MAKE SERVICE INACTIVE
then go to the far right of the box and choose APPLY.

If and when you want to use the mode again,
follow the same steps, only choose MAKE SERVICE ACTIVE
and then choose APPLY.

I do this every night because I don’t want to have
the electricity to my computer and ethernet
connected while I am sleeping.

love, patricia

how do you all think now, i dont even want wi-fi electronics in my device.  which bothers me because i cant find bookreaders without, or palm computers. im upset i think even the newer raspberry pis are putting wi-fi in.  plus i dont buy from death penalty countries, china, etc.  i want to understand how to disable the wireless physically but not sure if intelligent enough yet or how difficult to get circuit info, like on smartphone was given. anyone know how to do that?
i mentioned in messages that i think devices should have a line or ethernet option, maybe required.
