High EMF's in Toyota Prius rear seat + chart of readings for other

Check above link for the article. If this doesn't work, you can go to:
www.next-up.org and look for it. It's about the right rear passenger
seat in Toyota Prius where the emf readings are way over the top
(it's over the battery and part of it is unshielded).

ADDITIONALLY, way down toward the bottom of the article, there
is a chart showing the hot and cool spots in a variety of makes
and models of cars.

Poor little Toyota Prius Hybrid! Such good intentions.

I can't read that link...

About the Prius' good intentions... It's a good thing constructors experiment with new technology, but I'm not a Prius fan, even if it would emit lessEMF:

-The (pollution) cost to the environment of 70 kg of batteries is very highand for some reason overall neglected...

-The electricity fueling the Prius has to come from somewhere, nuclear power is probably the cleanest source for electricity thus far and is low on CO2 but of course there still is nuclear waste...

-I'm not really a diesel fan, but a VW Golf TDI BlueMotion (in Europe quitepopular) for instance emits less CO2 than a Prius, you don't need any electricity, you get a higher miles per gallon and with a particle filter a diesel is ok concerning harmful emissons (better than the Prius)

-I know I should not mention this because it's considered like swearing in church these days, but CO2 may be less of a problem than we think... Globalwarming, I've read too many books that say it has got nothing to do with CO2 but with cloud forming ions/cosmic/sun power... And their theory can explain the last 200 years but also thousands and millions of years of climatechanges on this planet!

(By the way I think lowering our CO2-emissions is a good thing, it's betterto be safe than sorry, but there's just not much proof CO2 has got an influence on global warming)

If politicians would care about the environment one little bit they should oblige diesel cars/trucks owners to have a particle filter installed today! The technology is there at a very low cost and it would directly lower harmful pollution a lot!!!

Politicians do only care about the economy and what's in the media... That's why they keep taking bad decisions...

I think if we ES-ers want some changes the only way to go for it is by getting the media's attention, for instance a worldwide march against EMF in New York, Paris and Tokyo on the same day (a bit like Live Aid)... if there would be millions of people marching out there, I think that would be front page news?!

That, and Michael Moore should make a documentary on ES! Michael... you should start reading this Yahoo Group!!! ;-)

Of course, like I think Chares wrote somewhere, it would help if the medical world and the scientists would start confirming that EMF is harmful...

Stephen.

25 milli guass unheard of in a vehicle?

Check out the outrageous readings on some of the
high end models, particularly Porche, Mercedes, BMW:

Porche 2004 Boxter - driver = 35 mg
Mercedes 1999 SL600 - Passenger = 50.0 mg
BMW 2009 328i - passenger: 28.0 mg.

BiBrun
They might be using a narrow-band ELF meter?
I think the Tri-Field readings you post are more
important but the values can be higher than other
meters would show if there are higher
frequencies present.

In fact I was surprised they mention 50/60 Hz.
Cars I have checked with a magnetic listener
are dominated by higher frequencies (especially
when driving).
