Long story short, we've called twice in 4 weeks to see about some kind of opt out program for the smart meter but each time we are told they have to pass this along to someone at a local office. They never call. Last person assured us they would call. 2 weeks later no call. I've noticed they were in a years long battle over these things with a nearby town who finally won a lawsuit.
I was thinking of putting a fairaday cage over it but the back is mounted to the same wall near where I sleep. It looks like there is no space behind it to put shielding material. The other problem is they mounted the fuse box outsude within feet of my room.
It stinks because everytime family watches television I get symptoms (wifi is physically disabled). One of the members needs tv to sleep and it sometimes stays on all night. I'm sleeping in my car now which let's just say is risky where I live. It can't go on. Its going to get boiling hot. The a/c doesn't work. Its uncomfortable (honda civic and I'm 6'4").
Hi Chupa38 could you shield your bedroom wall next to it with shielding paint or some other shielding material? Sorry you are going through this.
An expensive option I know, but someone sent a link to me for a sleeping tent recently for around £400.
Do you know what type of smart meter system the utility is using? Asking the utility may not help as it has become common practice now among the providers to lie about their smart meters because of the many customer complaints.
Do you have an EMF meter to check the electric meter to see if is putting out a wireless signal? If it isn't, the "smart" system may be using power line communication (PLC) for its 2-way communication. If this is the case, there is no way to shield from the EMF being emitted from the wiring in the house, power lines along the street, and it even penetrates the ground since its such a powerful low frequency signal. The majority of EMF meters will not be able to pick up the signal. Changing back to a mechanical (non-digital) meter with this type of system provided me with about a 50% reduction in symptoms.
I think you should find out all you can about that lawsuit in the nearby town and get names of the complainants as there may now be an opt-out available but the utility will not tell you this.

The problem is I can feel it in any part of the house so I will have to paint the whole house which I have plans for but just trying to get the money together to pay for it all it's kind of tough. I thought if we could opt out that would be simpler for now.. I also have a block bag that I bought off Amazon for $400 USUS. Unfortunately it doesn't work that well because the mesh material doesn't seem to block all that well. The rest of the bag works well just the face eyes and head part is not real great so I can still fill the effects of that stupid meter at night along with the neighbor's Wi-Fi. Read

I have a coronet ed88t plus fwiw. Ill have to check again. Its been a while. Why do these companies do these super vile things that hurt people and not give a c*** about it. I understand some people can deal with it and that's great but not everyone can. I can't understand what the big deal is in letting someone opt out.
I would think that dirty electricity filtering could work well (in the house) if you've got a power-line smart metering system in the area. Not sure which of the various options would be best though -- Stetzerizer, Greenwave, RxDNA, SineTimer, Satic....
I got sicker and sicker after installing Stetzer filters until one day I realized that when they were plugged in the magnetic field in my home went to very high levels. These filters and Stetzer's Microsurge meter can only deal with a small range of dirty electricity frequencies. The meter conveniently "misses" the rest psyching out the individual into thinking they've really done some good- and apparently it works with lots of people!
These filters are a despicable scam. The only true filtering is to filter the power before it comes into the house which costs thousands.
Conrad Biologic: 3. STETZER FILTERS
The Stetzer device is a capacitor-type filter that does remove some of the powerline noise, but only differential mode noise below 100 KHz. Many vendors of these filters are either ignorant or dishonest because they claim it eliminates most of the noise, and they base this conclusion on readings that they obtain with the meter they sell with their device with the meter plugged in next to the device. The problem is that their meter only measures the type and frequencies of the noise that they remove (differential mode noise below about 100 KHz), but does not measure the type that they don't remove (differential mode noise above 100 Hz, and common mode noise). Furthermore, the way that the Stetzer filters remove some of the differential mode noise is by converting it into additional common mode noise (which they don't remove), and they are not very effective at a distance from the outlet where they are plugged in.
Almost all computer-generated noise and switching power supply noise is at a much higher frequency than 100KHz. Stetzer filters aren't effective above 100KHz. Stetzer filters are used by plugging them into outlets throughout the house. But if the source of the noise is from within the house (such as computer equipment), the noise needs to be filtered out between the equipment and the outlet, before it reaches the outlet. If the noise comes from outside the home, filtering is best applied before the power enters the house. Although the latter would cost thousands of dollars and the Stetzer filters are far less expensive, this does not mean that Stetzer filters are an alternative that can have any significant benefit. The Stetzer filter is not a very effective filter. Any effective filter uses multiple stages of inductance and capacitance. Even the cheapest of computer filters employ both inductance and capacitance. The Stetzer filters do not use any inductors, only capacitors. Even in the very limited range that these filters operate (only differential mode noise and only between 4 and 100 KHz) the reduction is very small compared to the amount necessary to make a real difference for electrically sensitive persons - the noise reduction is only about 10 or 20 dB (see section 4. D) below), and it does nothing to common mode noise. Many electrically sensitive people have reported no benefit from Stetzer filter
Wow TY!! Yeah I was going to ask which is better the individual filters or the whole house one. Interestingly those filters can cost thousands if you buy enough to filter all your outlets.
BTW I did a quick test and the smart meter does not seem to be putting out a terrible amount of RF (only had time for quick test of 5 minuts). It was around 29-50 miliwats squared at point blank range (or is that too high, I'm just comparing to the cell phone or wifi). Is it supposed to continuously broadcast? Or is it only so often and then someone comes and collects the data? I think its a power line communication unfortunately.
The miligauss measurement in the house is 00.05 to 00.06 back and forth. Being in the house generally bothers me more towards the evening then the AM or Afternoon. Usually right around 7-8pm symptoms start.
