Heeeeelp! There's a DECT Phone in the house!

alinepapille
I am staying with my parents in the UK and was very alarmed to realise
they have one of those constantly-emitting cordless phones. The first 3
nights I only managed to sleep 2-3 hours each night (and this was after
a 23 hours plane journey and 45 hours with no sleep). So, not
surprisingly I am now sick with a nasty sore throat and exhausted.
Trying to convince my Dad to let me switch the phone off, at least at
night and at meal times when I have to sit near the base.

During my last visit 2 years ago I developed ringing and pounding in
one of my ears (it has continued ever since) and I am now convinced
that this was caused by the radiowaves. My mother currently has
mysterious internal bleeding and I am very concerned about their health
too.

I have told them about cordless phones that don't emit 24/7 an my Dad
is concerned that they wouldn't be able to get one with an answerphone.

Can anyone tell me which brand of cordless in the UK do not emit 24/7?
And do any of them have answerphones?

Also, can you recommend any good articles - scientific and anecdotal -
that may convince my family to take this seriously.

Thanks a bunch. I'm shipwrecked.

I'm in the Cotswolds - only for 2 weeks though. I live in Maui.
