Head protection

When Sue first got ES, one idea that we were given was to wear a woolly hat
stuffed with videotape (pulled out of a video cassette). The idea was that
the magnetic tape would help to absorb fields.

Has anyone else heard of this and tried it? It just seemed like an easy
cheap idea which would be useful if it worked.

However, we weren't sure if it helped much. It didn't seem to help in the
car (electric fields) - a metallised headnet was much better. But it might
provide some head protection from fluorescent light radiation?

Unfortunately it will never catch on as a fashion accessory, particularly
indoors (shops etc).

Hi Christina,

You moved your monitor from 17" to 26.5". From the inverse square law, as
17 squared = 289 and 26.5 squared = 702, the radiation should have reduced
by a factor of 2.43. So you've reduced it by well over half - a good start!
Maybe it's not so surprising that you felt you noticed a difference.
