Had to get an Android.....What a nightmare

weArethewires
Went downtown today and misplaced my 2006 model, low EMF phone.

Had to buy new phone for the 1st time.  Don't need internet, only need unlimited texting and basic phone service.

All the stores had were smartphones, IPhones, what have you.  Could not even test it till I got home, and it's off the charts.  (It's an Android)

New to this newfangled technology and absolutely hate it.  Hard to navigate and impossible to type.  But the main thing is, the thing emits.  Bad.

Have any of you had experience with Androids, and what can I do to protect myself?  I'm getting 100+ milligauss even when it's just sitting idle.

Or does anyone have suggestions on a low EMF phone?  I want as basic as possible.  Thanks!

Edit - Don't think it was milligauss (forgot the term).  Whatever stands for the radiofrequency field was 100+. (mw/m2?)

Well, if you want as basic as possible, you'd probably just buy an old 2G, non-smart phone off eBay.  Although these might be too small for texting?  My only phone is an old 2G "candybar" phone, a TracFone LG100C (Verizon).  But I only use it for voice calls, and rarely at that.

As for Android phones, I see some people saying that the old Samsung Galaxy II and III are tolerable, although I've tried the II, and stuck with my candybar phone.   I'm sure there are several models of other phones out there that are more tolerable than average, but you need to look hard to find them.  We have someone on the Facebook group who has tried over 50 phones!

Thanks Marc! I'll check out e-bay and see what they have.

And of course, if you were happy with your old phone, you could try to find the same one on eBay.

I also have an Android phone (Samsung S7). What I do is keep my phone inside this faraday bag until I really need to make a call or send a text (not very often anymore). I tell everyone I know to email me when I'm at work instead of texting me. I also use the speaker function for the very few phone calls I make. Then I quickly put it back in the bag.
