Green smoothies are a great way to get masnesium into your system,
which is apparently good for ES'ers. I have been glugging them down
for over three years, but cannot go entirely raw in my diet because I
tend to be a high Vata (ayurvedic) constitution and need root veggies,
and some cooked food to stay grounded. I feel really good and clean
after drinking my smoothie!
Since I have slight blood sugar sensitivity, I use 1/2 an apple (pectin
in apples makes it a low glycemic-index food). To help reduce
any inflammation in my body, I throw in a chunk of raw ginger, & hemp
protein powder. The raw garlic goes in too and I'm sure you all know
the good reasons for that. A hunk of cucumber makes it clean tasting.
