someone here asked about gloves that could act like a faraday cage, but I can't find the thread.
I just saw these gloves here: https://www.aitsafe.com/cf/add.cfm?userid=1151290&product=a351-a+Shielded+Glove+adult+size&price=16.95&thumb=https://lessemf.com/images/a351.jpg&units=1&return=https://lessemf.com/personal.html#351 I don't know if they work, though, as I never tried them. |
Yes, they work both as radiofrequency shielding and as grounding (if you connect aground cord).

They wont work as a Faraday cage as they have an opening. 30% opening means even with 100% effective material you will never get lower than 70% reduction, MINUS the reflective index x0.7 to the power of infinity. Not so good really. The reflective index rather than absorption is very important. Better if they are made of carbon / graphite as they absorb rather than reflect. That is why paint is better than foil if you generate radiation inside a Faraday cage. They are cheaper on eBay too. I have some. I wear them when I am using my mouse. Will yours stop a radio signal please when closed around it?

Plop, which is the brand of paint are you using, if I may ask?
Thanks! |

I make my own very economically with 2.6:1 Graphite : Carbon Black in any sort of Acrylic paint I can find at boot sales. Add water to need. Its as conductive as anything else I can measure on my meter and is so cheap I can slap and slap it on. A tiny fraction of the cost for less good posh paint. They are just making up the price.

Do you mean something like this???

I buy 25kg bags of it on eBay (graphite) and carbon black is used to color concrete. IE 25kg to 10kg graphite to carbon black makes probably 80 lts of paint for £100.
If you just need a tiny amount you can buy conductive circuit paint on eBay. What do you need it for? I have conductive gloves but they don't stop ( only attenuate) a radio signal which is mostly what your mouse makes even when fully closed off. What is the problem you need it for exactly please? |

Graphite paint works best because of anisotropic crystal absorption.
Try Electromagnetic radiation can be fully absorbed using an anisotropic crystal Try https://www.nanowerk.com/nanotechnology-news/newsid=42320.php I don't think it works with gloves though. I got a load on my trousers and it seemed pretty flexible but it did seem to crack. Perhaps with a flexible glue base it might work. I would like to try latex. They make conductive Crocks / clogs. Carbon fiber would work ( V. conductive) but is TOOO itchy. Internal reflection is a real problem with clothing unless you can wear a hole body suite and a mask. Paint could be handy getting your boat past customs RADAR if you don't want to pay VAT on conductive cloth. |

Is it this one, Plop? thank you for the info on graphite! It's pure carbon, right? Would that be toxic to inhalation? I rent this house, and would not like to spend LOADS of money to paint the bedroom walls, with Y shield paint, then still I need to earth it, and not sure this will help either (after all the money spent). If not too expensive, I can give it a try... but if this does not work, I have to clean it all again (kind of hard as walls are on wood). An option is to paint on paper, wall paper, that I add to the walls for trial.... thanks for any info. Did you paint your wall with this graphite paint (is it the one I mention above?) |

Yes thats the stuff. Why are you considering painting your room? What frequencies are causing you a problem? Is it wifi and phone signals? Please take below into consideration first.
People will try to sell you all sorts of things you do not need. Do you have a meter reading in v/m? with all in your house on and another with your mains off. This will show how much of the v/m you are making and how much is coming from outside. Most of your incoming MW radiation wont be coming through the walls but rather your windows and wires. What symptoms are you suffering from if you can say? My advice is to turn all your power off at the mains at night . Again how well this will work in giving your body time to recover depends on how much is coming from outside. This will stop all the power line contaminations.( They are the super highway for electro pollution into your house). Buy an adsl phone line filter or ferrite snap on chokes to stop MWs in the phone line. (eBay for £1) Next is to make ali/foil shutters for your windows. Mesh does not really work for MWs. Possibly paint your doors with anti NI radiation paint and any partition walls. If you are upstairs put aluminium kitchen foil under your carpets. Then put foil faced bubble wrap in the attic or foil under the carpet upstairs. Measure the room now and you will find that it should have lost most of its radiations. If this does not work you will have to cover the walls too ie paint or foil faced panels. MWs don't penetrate much unless they are from a very close source. Silver foil is very cheap and you can use wallpaper clue and paint over it. It will cut you heating bills dramatically too. You don't need to earth foil or paint for MWs as they are tiny and there are no significant partial wave charges. Earthing wires can be bleeding complicated and can make it all worse. Ask again if you need to. This will not stop TETRA or radio waves because nearly nothing will. If you have a neighbor with a plasma TV you are going to die so move. Can you pick up pulsing on a radio on medium wave frequencies? Try this on the wires in your house ie plug socket cables? The more detail you give me the better I can advise you. Please tell me more about what the density of houses etc are around you etc? The most important thing is that you tell me your meter reading or power consumption watts in the room you are considering so you do not create something that could be worse for your health possibly. I don't think thick walls need NI paint as they are relatively impenetrable to MWs. More significantly they let the radio waves you generate out. ( important). I did do my floor/ceiling above me with foil and paint. My windows are shutter screened with ali sheets and wire mesh for the day. , My wires are filtered. I can get no radio stations on any frequencies with an air band scanner in here now. But I do have meter thick walls and I am half underground. |
