Fwd: Herbal Spotlight: Ashwagandha and Thyroid Health

Patricia
this guy sends me emails because i have a friend who was
nuked in college and who has thyroid problems to this day.
he has to avoid everything with iodine in it.

my own thyroid needs help, i am sure, so
i am going to try the adrenal formula from gaia,
as it contains ashwagandha.

i am impressed by what you all know about thyroid/adrenals,
but it is way beyond me.  this is 'up' for me and so i am
going to try it and will let you know how it goes.
am also looking forward to trying luscent iodine.

thanks for sharing your experience and expertise.  :)
love you all!
sincerely, patricia

> Ashwagandha, also known as Withania somnifera, is a wonderful herb which can benefit many people with thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions.  It seems to be more commonly recommended to people with hypothyroid conditions, but it can also benefit some people with hyperthyroidism and Graves' Disease.  In this article I'm going to discuss some of the benefits of this herb, and while I usually list the adverse effects and contraindications of herbs when doing these "herbal spotlights", upon reading this article you'll discover that Ashwagandha is in most cases a very safe herb to take.

Ashwagandha is a fantastic herb, i find it works best as a tincture in hot milk, as opposed to capsules. Also be sure to have one or two rest days/week, to avoid tolerance. For those in the u.K Indigo herbs of Glastonbury, have a great mail order service.

Hi Ada

How are you??

This is interesting - thanks for the link - do you take this in addition to iodine or do you take it instead of it?

love
Steph
