I just put a 32 GB SLC SSD (by Transcend)  in my Mac PowerBook G4.  It's
nice and
silent... not sure if the EMFs are better or worse.  I upgraded to OSX 10.5
which supports noatime which is good for SSDs...that created some
software problems that I've finally solved.

The 10 inch SSD EEE PC is supposed to be one of the better off the
shelf options, but I haven't tried it.

Re: tolerable computers

BiBrun
I don't know what suggestion you mean... I'd recommend using it with an
external keyboard and mouse, and large fonts.
