Those energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs that are all the rage might be hazardous to your health.

That report comes not from a government agency or
watchdog group, but from Grayson Roth, 13, a San Jose Catholic School
eighth-grader. His science project found that so-called CFLs emit
“dangerous and unhealthy” levels of electromagnetic and ultraviolet
radiation.
Grayson now wonders how much study was given to CFLs before they were put on the market.
“They should have researched some of these issues,” he said.

Grayson used handheld meters to measure radiation
emitted from three CFL bulbs of 10, 13 and 23 watts and three
traditional incandescent bulbs of 40, 60 and 100 watts. He said he was
surprised at the results. He called his project, “Is it a bright idea?
Illuminating the dangers of CFL bulbs.”

Awesome Beth,

Even youngsters can use rational thinking to figure these things out.  That kid should get a major award of some sort.  Next, he'll be discovering that the government doesn't like this type of spontaneous deduction and pays scientists a great deal of money to "slant" findings in the direction of "power," not truth.

Do you know that our utility company gave consumers these CFL bulbs for use in their homes, just as telecom gave away wireless routers for $5 when they wanted to flood the market quickly with this new rage.

Keep 'em coming-- this stuff is exciting!  Too bad the kids can't determine the truths inherent in the "lies" of cell phone and WIFI proliferation.  That would be outstanding indeed!!!!

Peace,
Pam
