Subject: Mobile Phone Radiation

Hi Sarah,
I have been very interested in the subject of Mobile phone radiation.

As many of us work with technical gismos and gadgets, I particularly was
concerned about my mobile
phone use; I am a Network Systems Administrator. Since then I have
searched for some sort of
mechanism to block electromagnetic fields.

By chance I found a distributor of electromagnetic blocking material.
This company makes garments and
other accessories. For a few weeks I questioned the distributor and was
able to get a test report and video
from them verifying their product.

They have also been awaiting Certification of the Product in Taiwan. I
purchased their patches to put over
the mobile phone ear piece and have recently thought it was such a good
product that I would market it
myself.

Unfortunately you can never cover the mobile phone entirely with this
material as this would block the
signal. However their research suggests that most of the radiation
enters through the soft tissue of the ear
rather than through the skull. By placing the patch over the earpiece it
blocks that section of your head.

The way they work is similarly to the way a microwave blocks its
radiation; by using a grill at a smaller
density than the radiation you are trying to block. This allows sound to
go straight through but
prevent "harmful" electromagnetic radiation to pass.

I figure some protection is better than none...

The website is:

I really feel this was of use to me and would like to share my discovery
with others.

Please let me know if this website is of use or if you have any other
questions.

Thanks,
Paul

You might also want to look into trying an Aulterra sticker:

http://aulterra.com

I typically get a sharp pain in my head when using someone
else's cellphone or wearing headphones. However, this past
weekend I was helping with a convention, and *needed* to
use a cellphone extensively to coordinate with other people.
I used my wife's cellphone which has an Aulterra sticker
on it, and I had no symptoms from using that cellphone at
all. (I also had a Springlife Polarizer OM pendant in
my pants pocket, which I found to help raise my energy
levels and lower my stress during the hectic weekend)

I am not entirely convinced by the documentation made available that supposedly
supports the effectiveness of this product. I do think however that any
shielding is better than nothing, even though according to the graph provided
on the website and in the report, relatively little attenuation is achieved at
the transmission frequency of the phone (900MHz, 1800MHz). Furthermore, I
think that one could get themselves a sample of mumetal or even plain steel and
make a similar shield for their phone with a piece of stickytape. I got a few
free samples of shielding material from the magnetic shield corporation in the
US and the stickytape can be obtained for far less than $12. I guess most
people couldn't be bothered though and there wouldn't be any sort of testing
certificates or cool little designs as they show in their website. I imagine
the material they are using is silver strand woven polyester or something like
that - this is what some of the EMR shielding mozzie nets are made from.
Anyway, enough from me on this. For $12, even if it just buys a bit of peace
of mind, that'd have health benefits in itself (I'd like a bit of that myself).
