FW: 3RD AUGUST 2004 EMF UPDATE ON WHO WEBSITE

Benson, Sarah (Sen L. Allison)
Here is the update on the WHO website for EMF sensitivity. It asks for
comments at the bottom with a link. While true progress may be slow and
lip service is easier to offer in tight situations, please do offer this
up to your cadre of interested folks. Send a comment either in support
of the progress, because support can do good things, or send your
complaints that, "it's not enough" and why. But by all means, when
something like this pops up, don't just sit there, SEND A RESPONSE.

Best wishes to all,
David Jones, producer

Electromagnetic fields (EMF)

Electromagnetic fields <http://www.who.int/entity/peh-emf/about/en> of
all frequencies represent one of the most common and fastest growing
environmental influences, about which anxiety and speculation are
spreading. All populations are now exposed to varying degrees of EMF,
and the levels will continue to increase as technology advances.

As part of its Charter to protect public health and in response to
public concern, the World Health Organization (WHO) established the
International EMF Project <http://www.who.int/entity/peh-emf/project/en>
in 1996 to assess the scientific evidence of possible health effects of
EMF in the frequency range from 0 to 300 GHz.
