Eyelids turn up - Graves Disease

richsurf77-2
My upper eyelids turn up sometimes (when I use the computer the
most) and this coincides with me being more sensitive to sound and
also happens when my concentration is at its worst and when my eyes
are more sensitive to bright light.

I've found some info about this and it seems it is called Dalrymple

And according to wikipedia, it means that I have got Graves Disease!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graves%27_disease

These symptoms sound familiar as well!

Decreased concentration
Nervousness, agitation
Irritability
Restlessness

Arrhythmia (irregular heart beat)
Raised blood pressure (Hypertension)
Tremor (usually fine shaking eg. hands)

Swelling or redness of eyes or eyelids/eyelid retraction
Sensitivity to light

This is a bit scary!!

RE: Eyelids turn up - Graves Disease

Ian Kemp
Although Graves' disease is one possible explanation for the symptoms below,
there are lots of other conditions and diseases which give some or all of
these effects, so it shouldn't be taken as a firm diagnosis. Many of the
autoimmune diseases which can lead to MCS and ES give similar effects.

That being said, it's worth testing for thyroid problems, as these are quite
common and are relatively easy to test for. The key indicators T4, T3 and
TSH can be measured, and thyroid diseases are at least officially recognised
by the NHS. Some symptoms are shared by both hypo (low) and hyper (high)
thyroid, so self-diagnosis is risky here as one could treat in the wrong
direction. In fact, of ES people I have met with thyroid malfunction, it
has usually been low thyroid rather than high (Graves).
