Hello all, Just an update. As an experiment I slept in a different room from my (ES) husband. Result is that he had dramatically better sleep and a very good, low-symptom day following. His symptoms returned when I got home from work, even though we minimized exposure/proximity to me, I took the recommended salt-bath and had worn the Polarizer pendant at work. My husband continued to experience my energy field as "hot" -- and not in a good way. :-( Obviously more trial and error still needs to be done, and one does NOT want to have to avoid human contact forever just to minimize ES symptoms... But like someone else on this list said, realizing that people can be a trigger is important if we want to learn how to manage this illness and control symptoms. Cara |
Boy that must suck to be removing yourself from your husband as a
remedy. What is your husband doing to correct his situation? Is he taking baths too? What detox programs, vitamin supplements, grounding exercises, etc? There are a lot of things that can be done and I get that you are willing do what it takes. I recognize what you are willing to do to help him. What is he doing to help you? Them's some tough questions, Andrew. I have to not take it personally (sometimes easier said than done) or this new wrinkle could get very depressing, fast. So I am focusing on what we need to do next. My husband is just trying to get through one day at a time. I am trying to look at big picture strategy and find solutions. He's motivated, just doesn't have the strength to take the lead right now. You all know how beat up this illness can make a person feel, especially before you have made significant progress towards managing the symptoms. We're in a very early stage of grappling with this illness; even the supplements my husband is taking (in preparation for more serious "detox" efforts) seem to trigger imbalances such as poor sleep that snowballs into bad days or weeks. To answer your question, my husband is personally grounded all the time while at home, with a wrist stap that is connected to the earth outside our bedroom window. This makes a significant difference, as did grounding his workstation outlets. He has NOT yet tried salt baths himself, although years ago we tried hot baths (not much salt) and they didn't seem to help -- this was before we realized he was ES and found this forum. Regarding supplements, he is taking Seasilver, Milk Thistle, and now we are starting Green Magma although that seems to boost his energy TOO much (disrupts sleep), which is a problem. We'll be starting Primal Defense next. One last observation about the salt bath: I felt that it DID reduce the "buzzing" sensation in my body that I associate with exposure to my computer workstation. In fact, when I got out of the bath I felt sure that it had done the trick. But after about 10 minutes I felt the "buzzing" sensation return, especially in my lower arms and hands -- as if the effect of the bath hadn't fully "taken." And, of course, my husband picked up on the "radiation" from me immediately. So, should I be soaking myself for a longer period, using more salts, or what? I used an entire box of Epsom salts, by the way. Cara --- In [hidden email], Andrew McAfee <amcafeerr@n...> wrote: > Boy that must suck to be removing yourself from your husband as a > remedy. I suggest that instead of abandoning this supplement, you have him continue using it for a week, possibly even reducing the dosage to something small (like 1/4 teaspoon), and taking it in the morning instead of the evening. After a week, either the excessive energy should go away (as he has gotten used to it), or he will experience worsening adverse effects. If its the latter, discontinue. If its the former, continue. I've had this "excessive energy" symptom from several supplements in the past, and usually it either goes away, or I get adverse symptoms and stop. An example of an adverse symptom would be heart palpitations or panic attacks. Marc |

I respect your path and your way. I want to support you in finding what
works for you in the least disruptive way. I want to support your husband's ability to care for himself and not allow your willingness to replace his ability. I too feel depression and know what it is like to be immobilized, incapacitated, dead to the world, etc. I am sure his comfort level has a direct impact on you. He must learn to not drag you down as you only have so much energy to carry him through this hard time. He is very fortunate to have you as his very supportive partner. I believe that he will become more proactive when the remedies raises his energy level and he feels that his actions empower his condition. With my wife, she had to learn what was right for her and not what I wanted her to take or do. In time, she found out what was the best thing and the best way on her own. The more I would leave her to decide what she wanted, the more she did on her own. The more I pestered her to try something that I was trying and that worked for me, the more pissed she would get. It has been beautiful to see her unfoldment and empowerment, self care. She is in charge of her life and the more I step back the more I realize that she is totally able to care for herself and is fine in her ability to heal herself. She is more active when I step back. I don't know if this has relevance to your situation and I will support you way over my way. much love to you, Andrew On Jan 22, 2005, at 2:36 PM, Cara wrote: > > > Them's some tough questions, Andrew. Something called Polarity Therapy was also mentioned in conjunction with this. She knew of committed, otherwise harmonious couples whose energy had been at odds, causing sleep disorders and other symptoms when they were in proximity to each other. They underwent 'balancing' treatments, which I remember being referred to as partially electrical in nature, and their symptoms went away. I don't know if this info is helpful, but it might have some relevance so I thought I'd share it. I can give you the doc's number if you want to chat with her. Light to you both and hang in there, Beau |
