ES AND GENERAL ANAESTHETIC

Steph Smith
Hi everyone

I will shortly need to have some surgery and was wondering are there
any specific issues that ES people need to watch out for in relation to
undergoing a general anaesthetic - any information anyone has on this
would be greatly appreciated.

Regards to all

I don't know the answer to this, but you might want to tell them that
you are hypersensitive to some things, so if there is an alternate
formulation or lesser amount they can give you, that might be a good
thing. I know that I've had problems at the dentists office with
Novocaine, although my current dentist has been happy to cut the
dose and use less potentially harmful additives.

Quite a number of people with MCS or ES have reported bad side effects from
general anaesthetic - we certainly think it affected Sue (her problems
initially began after antibiotics and a general anaesthetic for a dental
infection, which then led to candida and gut problems). But I don't know of
a way of telling whether it will affect a particular person - only that it
is definitely an increased risk for MCS/ES people because the immune system
is extra sensitive, and less able to deal with "unusual" chemicals.

I seizured during my hysterectomy, and I'm sure it was caused by some
exposure - the lighting? monitors? I'm not sure.

I'm not sure what to tell you.

Re: ES AND GENERAL ANAESTHETIC

To Carol Ian and Marc thank you for responding on this issue - I'm sort of expecting some sort of reaction to the GA - I'm not sure whether the anaesthetist will be at all familiar with the concept of MCS [which is easier to get across than ES I'll bet!!!] - I'll let everyone know how the experiencegoes after its over

Re: ES AND GENERAL ANAESTHETIC

Steph Smith
Thanks Ada - the moon cycle is interesting, but I am having this on the NHSso unfortunately will have to go by their timetable!! I have also been advised to take 2 actimel a day in preparation to help ward off the chances ofhosptial acquired infections.

BTW I eventually got a reply from the UK distributor of the Graham Stetzer filters - apparently they are no longer distributing them in the UK but plan to distribute some other type of filter and said they would email me the product details as and when - so I will keep checking back to their site from time to time just in case.

best wishes
